73Three SCOOTERS, what's your fav?
Scooters Look first: Your best buy for Your best ride
If you’re thinking of getting a scooter, look for the one that is the best. Yes, buying a best scooter is the best deal you can make. But is it that easy? No. Getting a best scooter in the market is the deal that everyone looks for. Though it might not be a cake walk, but it is not a tall order either.
Scooter is an automobile that surely holds an edge over other vehicles in terms of its fuel efficiency and cost effectiveness. Yes, it is better than cars, mopeds and bikes in some or the other ways. So always consider the various aspects of scooters before you make your scooter deal.
Scooters: Classic or Modern?
The classic scooters are the older and original scooter designs that were developed in the earlier days of motoring revolution. And they are still the hot picks.
Likewise, the scooter major Piaggio has been producing its Vespa scooter range since 1946. Other manufacturers have incessantly copied that design right to the present day. Similarly, the popular Lambretta designs are reproduced today in different ways. Except a few innovative designs, maximum “classic” scooters are the versions of Vespa or Lambretta. If you prefer classic scooter design you will be riding the one with exclusive metal bodywork, manual shifting mechanisms and kick-starters. Japanese scooters by Mitsubishi, Yamaha and Honda are commonly accepted in classic scooter range.
In a complete contrast, the modern scooters feature radical and futuristic styling. They have plastic body panels that are low in cost. They work with automatic shifting and have several features that are not commonly found in Vespa and Lambretta scooters. The modern scooters blur the difference between motorcycles and scooters.
The pick is all yours. So, define your style and buy a classic or a modern scooter.
Engine: Two Stroke or Four Stroke?
There is an important technical distinction between the 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine designs. Two-stroke engines are the traditional scooter engines and burn gas and lubricating oil together in the combustion process. They make more pollution and are even banned in many industrialized countries. Generally, all classic scooters have two-stroke engines.
While, four-stroke engines work like car engines! They keep the fuel systems and lubrication separate, which lowers the emissions since no oil burns in the combustion process. Most modern scooters have four-stroke engines. One major disadvantage violates the fun of four-stroke engines that they are likely to get overheated when run at maximum speed for long time. But if the engine is kept air or water cool, this limitation can be overcome.
Manufacturers: Piaggio, Honda, Yamaha or any other?
Piaggio, Honda and Yamaha are the renowned scooter brands and have satisfied millions of users all across the globe, ever since they have started.
Vespa may not be the first scooter, but it is certainly the best one known all round the world. Vespa scooters are produced by Piaggio of Genoa, Italy. Piaggio has always been famous for its best scooters. The Vespa has been so admired that its early body design is produced till date. You can get them in the range of 50-200cc quite comfortably.
Scooter major Honda is as famous as Piaggio. Honda has produced attractive models of modern scooters and has its scooter manufacturing plants all over the world. Honda scooters are durable and sell quite well.
The modern scooter designs from Yamaha are also well-appreciated. Yamaha produces a famous scooter line in France through Motobecane, which sells quite well all over the Europe. Several official websites of Yamaha such as Yamaha Scooter Showroom and Dave's Yamaha Riva Scooter Page are there to help the riders worldwide.

Stay away from Merato! They are a complete scam! Their bike was shipped to me without gear oil, which locked the tranny up while I was in motion. Their mechanic admitted their mistake and sent me parts, which were the wrong ones. When I tried to get replacements, I got the run around, and eventually they stopped answering any form of communication (email, phone, etc.). The scooter was UNDER WARRANTY, and they still didn't fix it. I am out thousands due to this company, and when I reported them to the BBB and the Michigan State's Attorney, they both said they had received numerous complaints about Merato and it's mother company, Ramsond. Their rating with the BBB was an "F". They make cheap crap and then don't stand behind it. STAY AWAY!!!
